Digital Citizenship: Topic 1

I believe the blogging guideline that i will have the most trouble following is number 10.

10. "Anytime you use media from another source, be sure to properly cite the creator of the original work. Ask yourself: Who is the original creator of this work?"

The reason for this is because when I read something, I like to get it down as fast as I can so I don't forget it or leave it out if it is important.

What is digital citizenship?

Digital citizenship is basically a concept that helps people understand how to use technology appropriately.

What are the rights and responsibilities of a digital citizen in today's world?

Some rights and responsibilities of a digital citizen is to keep things private and be extremely careful on what you post and if anyone asks you to take something down that might be hurtful or offend the person then you should always take it down. Basically be kind and respectful to other and yourself because it can also negatively impact you as well.

Thoughts About My Digital Footprint

It is really strange being able to just type my name and see things like my Twitter and Facebook and i guess it is very common to find those thing about anyone but also, like before, i like to keep everything private so not many people see what going on in my life.

  1. I like that you underlined the questions, I wish I would've though of that! If there is a way to make the websites linked so you don't have to copy and paste it to get to the website, than I think that would be very helpful!

  2. It did not surprise me to see all your sports results. I was however surprised to see you making crepes for APEC. Colleges as part of the admissions process will search for information about you in this way. Remember this blog is now a part of your identity. Spelling, capitalization and grammar errors will be noticeable to anyone searching you out.

  3. There is a way to add a link to a website without having to copy and paste the url but I don't remember how to do it off the top of my head. One way to keep your blog life separated from your real life is to use a pseudonym so that others cant identify or track you. You may have a harder time doing that since the title of your blog is your first and last name. I wouldn't worry too much about it though.

  5. Good job actually writing out the questions before answering them; it makes it a lot easier to understand what and why you wrote what you did. I might have to do that in the future, too! You seem to have this blogging thing down pretty well.

  6. Great job on sectioning your posts into different headers. You have a few grammatical errors and need to capitalize your I's but other than that it was fine.
